Ham and Beans Casserole Recipe


Ingredients
* 3 cups Red Kidney Beans, cooked
or two (15 oz.) cans, drained
* 1 onion, chopped fine
* 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
* 2 cups cooked ham, diced
* 1 tablespoon flour
* 1/2 cup chicken broth
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
* 2 or more bacon strips
Directions
Prior to the following, cook beans until tender (if not using canned).
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Melt the butter or margarine in a large skillet and cook the onion until soft.
3. Stir in the ham, add the flour, blending.
4. Add the chicken broth, stirring well. Stir in the salt and pepper. Cook 10 minutes.
5. Add the kidney beans blending well.
6. Transfer to a casserole dish, top with bacon strips
7. Cook in preheated oven, uncovered, for 20 minutes or until bacon is crisp.
